Subnautica is an open world game with survival and action-adventure game experience. The game developed and published by Unknown worldentertainments. In the game player has freedom to explore the sea of the alien planet. This alien planet known as 4546B. in the beginning the game their space ship named Aurora crashed on this planet. Player must collect resources and face to creatures and must survive in the game.

Subnautica early access game released in 2014 for Microsoft windows. Mac OS X in 2015, and for Xbox One in 2016. In 2018the game release out of early access for Microsoft windows and macOS, with versions for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in December 2018. This game sequel to subnautica below zero game currently in early access.

Subnautica gameplay

Subnautica gives action-adventure experience in Open-World environment to the player. Player get control of the survivor of spaceship named Aurora crashed on planet named 4546B. In the game main objective is the survive and collect resources and build tools bases and submarines. Player must interact with wild life of this planet.

Player must experience the planet fill with the ocean and player can find two islands in this plane and game contains day night cycle. The game provides four types of difficulty levels in the beginning before playing game player must select one these difficulty level.

Survival mode – depletes health, oxygen, hunger, thirst, If the player dies, they respawn, but  certain   items are removed from their inventory.

 Freedom mode – this mode same to survival mode but hunger and thirst removed from this mode.

Hardcore mode – this mode same as the survival mode but includes permadeath function. I  player dies delete all the saves player must begin from the start.  

Creative mode – in this mode health, thirst hunger disables and don’t require crafting materials and player  has all the blueprints and do not need energy source.  These items do not gain damages until player do it.


This game supports VR headsets and player can get better experience with that.

Subnatica background story

Subnautica begins in 22 centuries when the people begin to colonize in other star system. Aurora is the deep space vessel constructed by Altera cooperation.  They sent Altera to the system at the outer reaches of known space. In the middle of the journey in the area called Ariadne Arm its primary mission is the build high speed space travel infrastructure named as Phasegate. And crew of the aurora get secondary mission to complete that was search for and, possibly, rescue the crew of a ship called the Degasi, which crashed on planet 4546B this star ship crashed in 10 years ago. But there is energy pulse from the planet and Aurora crashed on the planet few crew members escape from the Aurora by using life pods. Player get control one of these crew members.  Player play as lone survivor and player get record of three Degasi crew members escape from the crash and player found evidence of two of three are dead and assumed other one also dead.

Alien in subnautica

In the game player can find advance alien technology presence in the planet. These aliens came thousand years ago o find cure to highly infectious disease, known as the Kharaa Bacterium. These aliens discover the Kharaa during discovering the unknown planet. Because of failure in quarantine procedures disease spread over billions of individuals and kills 140 billion individuals. These aliens called as Precursors; they explore the thousands of planets for find cure for this disease. In planet 45646B there is an organism called Sea Emperor Leviathan that producing enzymes cure the Kharaa. But only living Sea Emperor is too old to get that enzyme enough to the Precursors. Precursors were unable to force its only eggs to hatch. They attempt to investigate egg hatching because of Sea Emperor is the egg related species. And eventually Kharaa released into planet ecosystem. Force to evacuate the Precursors enabled a facility known as the Quarantine Enforcement Platform, which consists of a large weapon that fires on any ships attempting to leave or land on the planet. It is discovered that this weapon caused the crash of the Degasi and the Aurora.

  In the Sea Emperor seeks freedom of her children. Sea Emperor communicate with player via telepathy and player discover prison that’s the captive with heal of them and player got instruction how to hatch eggs of Sea Emperor and disable quarantine mechanism. And player can escape from planet by using rocket that he builds.
